In these meetings the student also listens to presentations of other researchers and actively participates in the discussion. \r\n\r\nAfter finalizing all or most of the experimental work for the Master’s thesis, the student attends the “Young Scientists” (“Nuoret tutkijat”) event of the Department of Biochemistry and presents his/her own work at the event in an oral presentation, in a poster, as a press release and in an abstract. This alternative arrangement, which is a mutually agreed practice at the department, includes all the assignments included in the Young Scientist event.
